Islamabd: Tamasha, Pakistan’s largest home-grown streaming platform, has obtained international streaming rights for Pakistan‘s test matches against Bangladesh in August and September, as well as the test match against England in October. This achievement comes through a new partnership with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
In June 2024, Tamasha recorded 18 million monthly active viewers, marking its expansion into international streaming. This move extends Tamasha’s reach beyond Pakistan to sub-Saharan Africa and India, providing cricket fans with broader access to live match content.
Launched in October 2021, Tamasha has quickly become Pakistan’s leading video streaming platform. It offers comprehensive access to content across all mobile networks in the country, allowing users to enjoy their favorite programs whether they are on the go, at home, or in social settings. Additionally, Tamasha holds the exclusive streaming rights for the 2024-2025 ICC Men’s and Women’s tournaments in Pakistan.
Aamer Ejaz, President of Digital Platforms at Jazz, commented, “Digital streaming platforms are transforming how fans engage with sports globally. We are thrilled to deliver major cricket events not only to viewers in Pakistan but also to audiences in sub-Saharan Africa and India. Our goal is to make high-quality content as accessible as possible.”
During the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 in July, Tamasha achieved over 18 million monthly active users and captured 70% of all digital views for the tournament, peaking at 9 million daily active users. The app topped both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store rankings. Over the past year, Tamasha has attracted more than 50 international and local advertisers, solidifying its position as a leading digital platform in Pakistan’s evolving media landscape.
