Paris: Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has been honored with the “Best Airline Staff Service” award at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards, held during the 55th Paris Air Show. This prestigious recognition comes as the airline climbed to 17th place in Skytrax’s global airline rankings, up three spots from the previous year.
The award reflects Saudia’s commitment to delivering world-class hospitality and service excellence across all passenger touchpoints. For millions of Pakistani travelers—especially those journeying to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, Umrah, work, or business—this achievement signifies a noticeable improvement in travel experience and comfort.
Better Service for Pakistani Passengers
With frequent flights connecting Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Multan to key Saudi destinations, Saudia’s upgraded service directly benefits thousands of Pakistanis. The airline’s friendly and professional staff, from ground services to cabin crew, continue to raise the standard of hospitality.
H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, stated:
“This award reflects the dedication of our incredible frontline team and the trust of our guests. Rising from 82nd to 17th in global rankings is a proud milestone—but it’s just the beginning.”
Consistent Excellence Recognized Globally
Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, praised Saudia’s service:
“Saudia’s cabin and ground staff provide service that is both composed and welcoming. Their consistent professionalism and warmth leave a lasting impression on passengers.”
Saudia has shown steady growth in the past decade—jumping from 82nd place in 2016 to 20th in 2024, and now to 17th in 2025. The airline has also been recognized as the “World’s Most Improved Airline” for four consecutive years by Skytrax.
Future Plans: Investment and Expansion
Saudia is rolling out the largest investment program in its history. The initiative includes:
- Expanding its global flight network, especially in South Asia
- Doubling its aircraft fleet size
- Introducing fully redesigned cabin interiors with advanced seating
- Upgrading inflight entertainment and high-speed connectivity
These enhancements are part of Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to become a global leader in aviation and improve connectivity with key markets like Pakistan.
