Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Mr. Adel Al-Jubeir, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the Prime Minister House during his one-day official visit to Pakistan.
During the cordial meeting, the Prime Minister extended his warm regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. He emphasized the positive development of the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relationship, praising the Kingdom’s continuous support for Pakistan.
The Prime Minister condemned India’s recent missile and drone attacks on Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths of numerous civilians, including women and children, and caused significant infrastructure damage. He reaffirmed that Pakistan would uphold its sovereignty and territorial integrity, citing the violation of international law and regional peace due to India’s actions.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also honored the Pakistani Armed Forces for their bravery in defending the nation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
The Saudi Minister of State expressed condolences for the civilian casualties, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s concern over the situation. He reiterated the Kingdom’s support for de-escalation and peaceful resolution of disputes between Pakistan and India, in line with international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
