Karachi: A delegation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) visited the Consulate General of China in Karachi to offer condolences following the tragic loss of Chinese citizens in the recent Karachi airport blast.
PTI Delegation Led by Dr. Arif Alvi
The delegation was led by former President Dr. Arif Alvi and included Senior Vice President PTI Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Mustafa Karani, and MPA Rehan. During the visit, Dr. Alvi expressed deep sorrow over the attack, describing it as part of a series of heinous acts aimed at disrupting the strong ties between Pakistan and China, particularly regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
“We understand the importance of our friendship with China,” Dr. Alvi stated. “I was the first head of state to visit China post-COVID-19 and had a meeting with President Xi, in line with Imran Khan’s vision. Khan has consistently highlighted China’s rapid development across many sectors.”
Condolences and Commitment to CPEC
Firdous Shamim Naqvi, speaking on behalf of PTI, also extended his condolences, reaffirming China’s status as Pakistan’s “iron brother” and emphasizing the importance of staying focused on the Belt and Road Initiative, which he believes will transform the region.
Chinese Consul General Thanks PTI Leadership
Chinese Consul General Mr. Yang Yundong welcomed the PTI delegation and expressed gratitude for their support, acknowledging the party’s unwavering commitment to fostering strong Pakistan-China relations.
