Pakistan Observes Youm-e-Tashakur To Celebrate Victory In Operation Bunyan-um Marsoos

Islamabad/ Karachi: Pakistan marked Youm-e-Tashakur (Thanksgiving Day) nationwide on Friday to commemorate the historic victory of Operation Bunyan-um Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq against India. The day also paid tribute to the country’s armed forces and the resilient spirit of its people.

Nationwide Observances Mark The Historic Day

The day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and special prayers in mosques across Pakistan. In the federal capital, a 31-gun salute was presented, while provincial capitals observed a 21-gun salute.

Change of guard ceremonies were held at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Flag hoisting events took place at federal and provincial capitals, accompanied by floral wreaths laid at Yadgar-e-Shuhada in honour of martyrs, including families of Operation Bunyan-um Marsoos heroes.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Calls For Peace Talks With India

At the central ceremony held at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif emphasized the need for peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict.

“Pakistan and India should come to the negotiating table for sustainable peace in the region,” the Prime Minister said. He called for dialogue on Kashmir, trade, and terrorism to end decades of conflict, stating, “We should talk, not fight.”

PM Shahbaz recalled Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror, with 90,000 lives lost and economic damages exceeding $150 billion. He highlighted the unity and patriotism shown during Marka-e-Haq and praised the armed forces for their professional and decisive response to Indian aggression.

Sindh Chief Minister Announces Compensation For Martyrs’ Families

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced compensation packages for families of seven martyrs from Sindh, including six Pakistan Air Force personnel and one civilian who lost their lives during Indian attacks. Families will receive Rs. 10 million each, while injured individuals will be awarded Rs. 1 million.

Speaking at the Sindh Secretariat flag-hoisting ceremony, Murad Ali Shah lauded the bravery of the armed forces and the steadfast patriotism of Sindh’s people. He affirmed the province’s full support for national defence and unity against enemy conspiracies.

Public Rallies and Nationwide Solidarity

Youm-e-Tashakur was marked by rallies and ceremonies across major cities including Hafizabad, Kamalia, Sukkur, Multan, Muzaffarabad, Athmuqam, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rawalpindi, and Gojra. These events celebrated Pakistan’s military success and paid homage to the martyrs with prayers, flag hoisting, and patriotic slogans.

ISPR Releases Patriotic Anthem ‘Yalghar Hai’

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a new national song, Yalghar Hai, celebrating the bravery and unity of Pakistan’s armed forces. Written and performed by Hussnain Ali Paracha, the anthem has inspired the nation and reinforced collective pride and resilience.

Leadership Praise For Armed Forces’ Professionalism

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed deep gratitude for the military leadership during the conflict, praising Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

President Asif Ali Zardari also paid tribute to the soldiers and military leadership, calling the victory a “great moment” and thanking Almighty Allah for the nation’s success against Indian aggression.
