Nankana Sahib Targeted; 31 Civilians

Martyred 57 Injured in Indian Aggression

Across Six Pakistani Cities

Karachi: Pakistan successfully downed 29 Indian drones between May 7 and 8, including one attempting to target the revered Sikh holy site at Nankana Sahib, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday.

“These acts are abhorrent and unacceptable,” said DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, condemning India’s disregard for religious sanctity and civilian lives. “One drone partially engaged its target, causing damage to equipment and injuring four soldiers, while three civilians were martyred and four others injured,” he added.

India Launches Strikes Under ‘Operation Sindoor’

The drone attacks followed India’s launch of “Operation Sindoor,” a coordinated military aggression carried out in the early hours of May 7. A total of 24 strikes were reported across six Pakistani localities, resulting in the martyrdom of 31 civilians and injuries to 57 others, according to the DG ISPR.

Swift Pakistani Military Response

In retaliation, Pakistan’s armed forces shot down five Indian jets and destroyed multiple Indian military assets, including brigade headquarters and checkposts along the Line of Control (LoC). Four Pakistani soldiers were injured in the operation.

Lt Gen Sharif confirmed that Chinese-made J-10 fighter jets were deployed in the response. U.S. officials, speaking to Reuters, stated with high confidence that at least two Indian aircraft, including a French-made Rafale, were brought down by Pakistan.

India Accused of Spreading False Flag Narratives

Lt Gen Sharif accused the Indian government of orchestrating a disinformation campaign. Responding to New Delhi’s claims that Pakistan targeted 15 sites within India, he dismissed the allegations as “phantom defense propaganda.”

“In today’s digital age, every projectile leaves a trace. India’s claims are not only baseless but desperate attempts to justify naked aggression,” he said. “This is not 2016. You cannot fabricate strikes and sell them as fact.”

Reports of Attacks in Jammu ‘Fake and Fabricated’

Security sources also rejected Indian media reports of alleged Pakistani missile strikes in Jammu and Kashmir. “These are fake, false reports meant to create false justification for continued aggression,” said a statement issued via PTV News. “There is no truth to these fabricated claims.”

Pakistan’s Position Clear: Peaceful but Prepared

Lt Gen Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace but made clear that any provocation would be met with force. “We are a peaceful nation, but we reserve every right to defend our people, sovereignty, and sacred sites,” he stated.
