Bhimber: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the first Daanish School Science and Technology Center of Excellence in Bhimber, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), marking a significant step in the region’s educational progress. Addressing the ceremony, he emphasized the importance of providing quality education to children in underdeveloped areas.
Commitment to Kashmir’s Struggle
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for the people of Kashmir, emphasizing that the struggle for their self-determination, as per United Nations resolutions, remains a core priority for Pakistan. He assured that as long as Kashmiris continue their fight for freedom, Pakistan will stand by them.
The Prime Minister also commended the dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces in supporting the Kashmiri cause. He specifically mentioned Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, praising his firm commitment to the Kashmiris’ struggle for independence. “The sacrifices of the Kashmiris will not go in vain,” Prime Minister Sharif declared. “They will attain freedom, and the entire nation stands behind them in their pursuit of justice.”
Expanding Educational Opportunities
PM Shehbaz Sharif announced plans to open more Daanish Schools in AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These schools, part of a broader initiative, aim to provide quality education to talented but underprivileged children.
Daanish School’s Legacy
The Daanish Schools project, originally proposed by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, provides free education, books, meals, and boarding facilities to orphaned and economically disadvantaged children. Thousands of graduates are now serving in key roles across various sectors.
Government’s Efforts on Economic Front
The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s success in curbing inflation and boosting exports and remittances. He also pointed to the World Bank’s $20 billion allocation for Pakistan in its 10-year plan, emphasizing the government’s resolve to complete its IMF program and avoid economic default.
Support from AJK Leadership
AJK Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq and other local leaders expressed gratitude for the Daanish School initiative, calling it a “game-changer” for the region’s educational development. The establishment of four Daanish Schools in AJK was also announced.
Promoting Education as National Priority
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam, Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and other prominent figures praised the initiative, stressing the role of education in national development and aligning with PM Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of educational reform.
