Karachi: A herd of female African elephants arrived at Karachi’s Safari Park from Tanzania in June 2009. Following the passing of her sister, Noorjehan, in April 2023, Madhubala, the last remaining elephant, is scheduled to join her companions Malika and Sonia at the Safari Park by November 2024.
The relocation of Madhubala has been made possible through the efforts of the UAE Consul General, H.E. Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi. He arranged urgent medications for Madhubala on two separate occasions. In addition, Dr. Alremeithi personally visited the elephants to assess their well-being. During his visit, he planted a tree, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to animal welfare in Pakistan.
This initiative not only emphasizes the importance of caring for wildlife but also reflects the UAE’s dedication to supporting conservation efforts in the region.
