Quetta: A devastating terrorist attack targeted a school van in Khuzdar on Tuesday, killing five people—including three innocent children—and injuring 53 others, most of them students. The attack has been described by officials as a suicide bombing orchestrated by India-sponsored militants aiming to destabilize the region.

According to initial reports, a suicide bomber on a motorcycle rammed into the school van near the main bypass. The explosion claimed the lives of two security personnel and three children on the spot. Among the injured were 39 children, with at least eight said to be in critical condition.

The blast site was cordoned off by law enforcement agencies, and rescue teams shifted the wounded to nearby hospitals. No group has claimed responsibility so far, but officials say the attack was part of a broader agenda by India to support terror elements operating under the guise of ethnic movements.

PM, Army Chief Visit Injured in Quetta

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir arrived in Quetta on Wednesday to inquire after the injured children and security personnel at the military hospital.

Accompanied by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, the top civil-military leadership expressed deep sorrow over the loss of young lives and prayed for the swift recovery of the wounded.

India Behind the Attack, Says PM

While condemning the attack, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called it a “cowardly and shameful act” sponsored by India. “After suffering strategic defeats, India has now stooped to targeting innocent schoolchildren. This act is not only an attack on Pakistan, but on humanity,” he stated.

He urged the international community to strongly condemn the attack and take notice of India’s continued use of terrorism as an extension of its foreign policy.

Decisive Response Promised

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir vowed that those behind the bloodshed will be tracked down and punished. “Our forces, backed by the nation, will launch a decisive operation against such terrorist networks. These acts cannot shake the resolve of the Baloch or Pashtun people,” he declared.

A high-level briefing given to the PM and Army Chief revealed that the attack was carried out by a group receiving direct support and guidance from the Indian government.

Attack an Insult to Humanity and Morality

The civil and military leadership jointly described the Khuzdar attack as a crime against humanity. “This assault on innocent children exposes the true face of terrorism and India’s brutal strategy. Groups that exploit ethnic narratives for violent agendas are not only serving foreign interests but also dishonoring the peaceful traditions of Baloch and Pashtun societies,” the statement said.

National Resolve Against Terrorism Reaffirmed

Reiterating Pakistan’s zero-tolerance policy for terrorism, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the entire nation stands united behind its armed forces and law enforcement agencies. “We will not rest until every terrorist involved in this brutality faces justice. The people of Pakistan are one in their fight against terror,” he said.

The leadership pledged that, just as the nation stood firm during past Indian aggression, it would once again confront and defeat the new wave of terrorism with unity and resolve.
