Karachi: The Government of Japan has awarded a grant of $12,436 (PKR 3.4 million) to Dawn Public Secondary School in Khairpur, Sindh, to equip its science laboratory.
The grant contract was officially signed at the Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi between Japanese Consul General HATTORI Masaru and Sanaullah Ujan, the school operator. With this funding, students in grades 8 to 10 will have access to a fully equipped science lab within their school, eliminating the need to travel to other institutions for science classes.
This initiative is particularly beneficial for female students, enabling them to focus on their studies and reducing dropout rates. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Consul General HATTORI emphasized the importance of quality education in shaping students’ futures.
The Government of Japan remains committed to strengthening bilateral ties with Pakistan and supporting local educational initiatives through continued collaboration with NGOs.
