Karachi: The 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, marking the world’s first children’s holiday, and the 105th anniversary of the Turkish Grand National Assembly were celebrated with pride and enthusiasm in Karachi. The events were organized under the patronage of the Consulate General of Türkiye and in collaboration with Pak-Turk Maarif Schools and Colleges.
In a press release, Mr. Cemal Sangu, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye, highlighted the significance of these celebrations. The first event, held in cooperation with the Department of Sports and Youth of Sindh and Karachi Police Club (CPK), saw Pak-Turk Maarif Schools students plant 105 saplings to honor the occasion. The event also observed Earth Day, with participation from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Sindh, Director Generals, Karachi Police Association officials, teachers, and students.
The second event, organized in collaboration with Luck One Mall, Karachi’s largest shopping center, attracted around 1,500 students from Pak-Turk Maarif Schools and Colleges in Karachi and Hyderabad campuses, along with teachers, parents, and mall visitors. The event featured a wide array of activities, including music, folk dances, theater, workshops on marbling and calligraphy, and traditional games such as three stones, mangala, tug of war, hopscotch, dodgeball, mas wrestling, and handkerchief snatching. Exhibitions showcased Turkish photography, handicrafts, and archery equipment.
