General Munir praised the participation of
defense manufacturers from friendly nations and
engaged with foreign officials and delegates

Karachi: On Wednesday, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2024) at the Karachi Expo Centre. This event, which showcases advanced defense technology, features 557 exhibitors from 36 countries.
During his visit, General Munir praised the active participation of defense manufacturers from friendly nations. Additionally, he engaged in discussions with foreign military officials and defense delegates. This interaction helped foster collaboration between Pakistan and the international defense community. Moreover, over 300 foreign delegates from 53 countries attended the event, further demonstrating their confidence in Pakistan’s defense industry.
One of the standout moments of the event was the unveiling of the Shahpar-III, a cutting-edge combat unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Developed by Global Industrial Defence Solutions (GIDS), this UAV boasts an operational ceiling of 35,000 feet and can remain in the air for more than 24 hours. Furthermore, it can carry various munitions, including bombs, missiles, and torpedoes, highlighting its versatility and advanced capabilities.
Upon his arrival in Karachi, General Munir was warmly received by Karachi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar. IDEAS 2024 marks the 12th edition of this major exhibition. In conclusion, it underscores Pakistan’s growing prominence in the global defense sector.
