Karachi: A distinguished Diplomatic Luncheon was held at Shalimar Hall, Gymkhana, to honor H.E. Sanjeewa Pattiwila, the newly appointed Consul General of Sri Lanka in Karachi. The event was jointly organized by KHA Business & International Relations and the Consumers Association of Pakistan (CAP).
The gathering brought together senior diplomats, business leaders, and prominent members of Karachi’s civic and diplomatic community. Among the attendees were the Consul Generals of Oman, Morocco, and Yemen, Former Home Minister Brigadier (R) Haris Nawaz, Former KCCI President Shamim Firpo, President English Speaking Union Pervaiz Madarsawala, Jilani Yousuf, Ateequr Rehman, Azmat Soomro, and Ali Haider.
The luncheon was hosted by Mr. Kaukab Iqbal, Chairman CAP; Mr. Kafeel Hussain, Chairman KHA Business & International Relations and Chairman Diplomatic Affairs CAP; and Mr. Abdul Salam Dadabhoy, Senior Vice Chairman CAP.
Chief Guest Mr. Irfan Soomro, Director General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of such engagements in strengthening bilateral and regional ties.
“Events like these foster dialogue, understanding, and collaboration between nations,” Mr. Soomro said, commending efforts to enhance diplomatic and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The event underscored the shared commitment of both nations toward mutual growth, cultural exchange, and international harmony, reflecting Karachi’s continued role as a hub for diplomatic outreach and business collaboration.
