Karachi: The 8th Diplomatic and Foreign Investment Award 2024, organized by the Diplomatic Forum for Social Economic Foundation, was held at a local hotel, showcasing efforts to promote international cooperation and economic growth.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the event’s chief guest, lauded the diplomatic community in Karachi for their significant contributions. He highlighted the Sindh government’s initiatives to foster investor confidence and attract both local and foreign investments.

Promoting Investment in Sindh
Murad Ali Shah emphasized the implementation of the Doing Business Reform Strategy, a national roadmap aimed at improving Pakistan’s investment climate through reforms at both federal and provincial levels. He described Sindh as a secure and appealing destination for investments across various sectors, urging foreign diplomats to encourage investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan.
Role of Consular Missions
Hassan Nourian, Consul General of Iran and Dean of the Consular Corps in Karachi, commended the role of diplomatic and consular missions in advancing socioeconomic development. He acknowledged their contributions to facilitating trade, investment, and cultural exchange, which enhance Pakistan’s global image.

Nourian praised consular offices in Karachi for their services to both their citizens and the Pakistani business community, including visa facilitation and market insights. He assured the diplomatic community’s commitment to strengthening cultural, commercial, and consular relations with Pakistan.
