Karachi: Bank Alfalah’s Islamic banking division has been honored with two awards at the 2025 Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, marking a major international recognition for the franchise.
The bank received accolades for Best Bank for Islamic Window Business and Excellence in Shari’ah Assurance, underscoring its innovation, sustained growth, and commitment to Shari’ah compliance in the Islamic finance industry.
The 15th GIFA Annual Awards brought together more than 50 global leaders and contributors to Islamic finance, with participants from the GCC, Far East, Africa, Asia, and the West. The ceremony was attended by Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim as guest of honour, while the awards were presented by Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Muhammad Imran, Group Head of Islamic Banking at Bank Alfalah, said the recognition reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to accessible and ethical financial solutions. “These accolades are not a destination but a catalyst, inspiring us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and setting new benchmarks for the Islamic finance industry in Pakistan and beyond,” he noted.
Bank Alfalah Islamic said the awards will further bolster its mission to redefine the country’s Islamic banking landscape by leveraging technology and customer insights to deliver seamless, Shari’ah-compliant services.
