Bank Al-Falah will provide scholarships and conduct workshops to support students of Master of Science in Journalism at IBA and content creators

Karachi: Bank Al-Falah and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi have announced a collaborative initiative aimed at empowering online content creators and enhancing financial literacy. Under this partnership, Bank Al-Falah will provide scholarships and conduct workshops to support students pursuing a Master of Science in Journalism (MSJ) at IBA and content creators.
Scholarships for Journalism Students
As part of the agreement, Bank Al-Falah will award scholarships to five MSJ students at IBA for the academic year 2024-25. These scholarships are intended to help students excel in journalism, focusing on critical areas such as reporting, research, fact-checking, technology, and ethics. Dr. Asma Haider, Professor and Dean of the School of Economics and Social Sciences at IBA, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Our MSJ students are trained in the best practices of journalism, and these scholarships will enable them to further enhance their skills, contributing to financial literacy and promoting transparency in journalism.”
Financial Literacy Workshops for Content Creators
In addition to scholarships, Bank Al-Falah will conduct twelve workshops aimed at improving the financial literacy of online content creators. Taimur Ahmed, Acting Head of the Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) at IBA, expressed gratitude to Bank Al-Falah, noting, “Empowering young journalists and content creators is essential for fostering a well-informed society. This initiative is a significant step towards achieving that goal.”
