Karachi: A breast cancer awareness session held in Karachi highlighted the urgent need for early detection, regular self-examination, and preventive education to combat one of Pakistan’s most prevalent health challenges affecting women.
The event, hosted at Taleemgah Dukhtaran-e-Awam Trust Girls High School, DHA, was jointly organized by Dr. Salim Ahmed & Co. in collaboration with Dr. Reckeweg Germany as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative promoting preventive healthcare and community health literacy.
The session featured Dr. Saima, Senior Medical Officer at the Atomic Energy Medical Centre (Radiation Oncology Department), who shared crucial insights into identifying early warning signs of breast cancer and the lifesaving role of early diagnosis. She urged students to embrace regular self-checks and to spread awareness among their families and communities.
“Proactive health awareness is not just an individual responsibility—it’s a social commitment,” Dr. Saima emphasized during her talk.
Ms. Nargis Salim, Partner at Dr. Salim Ahmed & Co., commended the school’s participation and stressed the importance of integrating health education into community outreach. “Our initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to empower young women with the knowledge to make informed health decisions,” she said.
Through sustained awareness programs, Dr. Salim Ahmed & Co. and Dr. Reckeweg Germany continue to advance their mission of supporting preventive healthcare and promoting long-term community well-being across Pakistan.
