Karachi: The 17th Aalmi Urdu Conference began with great enthusiasm at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi. This event celebrated the linguistic and cultural heritage of Urdu and other regional languages. It attracted literary figures, diplomats, artists, and culture enthusiasts from around the world.
Chief Minister Highlights Karachi’s Cultural Significance
The Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh addressed the attendees and emphasized the importance of the event. He described it as a celebration of Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity. Moreover, he praised the Arts Council of Pakistan for its 70-year journey, which has established it as a center for creativity and dialogue.

Additionally, the Chief Minister commended Arts Council President Mohammad Ahmed Shah’s leadership. He highlighted initiatives that have made Karachi a global cultural city. “Hosting the 38-day World Culture Festival with artists from 44 countries and expanding the Aalmi Urdu Conference have reinforced Karachi’s status as a city of art and intellect,” he stated.
