News Desk
London: The CEO of the Pakistan Britain Business Council (PBBC), Mr. Rashid Iqbal, facilitated a key meeting yesterday with His Excellency, Dr. Muhammad Faisal, High Commissioner of Pakistan to the UK, and Frank Valle of Saudi Airlines. The meeting focused on developing a strategic framework to enhance economic ties between the UK and Pakistan, with specific proposals from the PBBC.

Saudi Airlines Offers Concessionary Benefits to PBBC Members
One of the significant outcomes of the meeting was Saudi Airlines’ agreement to provide concessionary benefits to PBBC members and their affiliates, including partners, when traveling with the airline. This initiative aims to foster closer ties and encourage travel between the UK and Pakistan.
Increasing Flights and Supporting FMCG Exports
In response to the growing demand, Saudi Airlines is also planning to gradually increase the number of flights from the UK to Pakistan. This expansion will be coordinated through further discussions between PBBC, Saudi Airlines, and Pakistan’s Ministry of Aviation. Additionally, the meeting explored the possibility of subsidizing air cargo to support Pakistan’s FMCG exporters, with the goal of boosting the country’s export potential.
Promoting Pakistan’s Travel and Tourism Sector
The PBBC is actively working on promoting and developing Pakistan’s travel and tourism sector, particularly by targeting niche markets. This will be a collaborative effort involving the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and tour operators in both Pakistan and the UK. As part of these efforts, PBBC has proposed leading an official trade delegation to Pakistan to explore the country’s rich tourism potential.
