Karachi: The Consulate General of Indonesia in Karachi, in collaboration with Imtiaz Stores, inaugurated Indonesian Week on Wednesday, bringing a diverse range of Indonesian food, beverages, lifestyle, and wellness products to Pakistani consumers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dewanto Priyokusumo, Acting Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi, said the event serves as a cultural and commercial bridge between the two nations.
“This is more than a product showcase. Through Indonesian Week, we invite Pakistani consumers to experience Indonesia’s richness — from food and beverages to wellness and lifestyle products — each carrying a story of tradition and craftsmanship,” he said.
The Consul General thanked Imtiaz Abbasi, Chairman of Imtiaz Group, and Kashif Imtiaz, Director of Imtiaz Stores, for their support in hosting the initiative. Senior executives of Imtiaz Stores and Ahmad Syofian, Economic Consul of Indonesia, also attended the event.
Imtiaz Abbasi said the collaboration reflects Imtiaz’s vision of connecting its customers with global products.
“This partnership not only introduces authentic Indonesian items to Pakistani households but also strengthens the cultural and commercial ties between our two nations,” he noted.
Director Kashif Imtiaz added that Indonesian Week will provide customers with a unique opportunity to explore new tastes and experiences, while strengthening people-to-people connections.
The Indonesian Economic Consul highlighted that visitors can sample premium Sumatran coffee, Indonesian spices, snacks, skincare products, and daily essentials during the week-long festival.
Officials said initiatives such as Indonesian Week are designed to boost awareness, promote trade, and open new avenues for collaboration in sectors including halal food, agriculture, textiles, consumer goods, tourism, and investment.
The Indonesian Consulate encouraged families and consumers to visit Imtiaz Stores during the week to enjoy Indonesian flavors and lifestyle experiences.
