Islamabad: inDrive, the global mobility platform known for its peer-to-peer pricing model, has recorded a four-fold year-on-year growth in its City-to-City service across Pakistan. This significant surge highlights the rising popularity of intercity travel among both passengers and drivers.
According to inDrive Pakistan, routes such as Lahore-Islamabad, Lahore-Gujranwala, Karachi-Hyderabad, and trips to smaller cities like Sheikhupura, Kasur, Mardan, and Okara have seen a steady increase in demand.
Tourist destinations see summer boost
The summer vacation season played a major role in this growth, with tourist spots like Murree witnessing a 75% spike in trips between April and June. Weekends—especially Fridays through Sundays—remain the busiest travel days as people plan quick getaways.
Top drivers earning big
The platform is proving lucrative for drivers as well. Top-performing drivers on the Lahore-Islamabad route are reportedly earning between PKR 300,000 and PKR 350,000 per month after expenses.
“The rapid growth in our City-to-City rides reflects a shift in how people move and earn in Pakistan,” said Awais Saeed, Country Head at inDrive Pakistan. “Passengers appreciate the control and transparency in pricing, while drivers benefit from reliable, high-yield opportunities.”
Carpooling adds value for both passengers and drivers
Many riders are opting for inDrive’s in-app ride-sharing option, allowing passengers to split the cost with friends or colleagues. This model offers the convenience of door-to-door travel with the affordability of public transport, without the stress of navigating terminals.
Meanwhile, inDrive’s smart City-to-City matching algorithm helps drivers fill up to four seats per trip, maximizing their earnings. Drivers already en route are given priority access to new bookings, boosting efficiency and profits.
Flexible rides, fair pricing
City-to-city drivers typically complete 2–4 rides per day—longer routes average two rides, while shorter ones can reach up to four. The fare negotiation feature gives both parties the freedom to agree on a price, staying true to inDrive’s commitment to transparency and choice.
Driving economic empowerment
With a low barrier to entry and a flexible earning model, inDrive continues to empower micro-entrepreneurs across Pakistan. Whether as a full-time job or a source of additional income, the platform is helping thousands earn on their own terms.
