Karachi: As part of its ongoing commitment to community welfare and maritime safety, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) organized a comprehensive training session and ration distribution drive at Arab Safar Goth, a coastal village near Mubarak Village.
Focus on Safety and Awareness
The session aimed to educate the local fishing community on essential safety protocols and emergency response techniques. Villagers received hands-on training in basic first aid and life-saving procedures, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The importance of personal hygiene in communal and marine environments was also emphasized.
A key segment of the training featured practical demonstrations on the proper use of life jackets, highlighting how correct usage can save lives during maritime emergencies. PMSA officials also briefed participants on Search and Rescue (SAR) protocols and distributed vital emergency contact numbers for use in distress situations.
Support for Coastal Families
The training was delivered in an interactive format, ensuring active participation from fishermen and youth. Following the session, PMSA distributed ration bags to deserving families in the village as a gesture of solidarity and humanitarian support.
