Karachi: Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced on Monday that the Sindh Energy Holding Company (SEHC), under the Sindh Energy Department, has achieved a revenue target of Rs113 million for the current financial year. The company has now set an ambitious target of Rs266 million for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26.
Chairing a high-level meeting of SEHC, the minister praised the company’s performance and emphasized the need for strategic, low-risk investments. He directed that future investments in the oil and gas sector should be made only where profits are assured. A summary of investment proposals will also be submitted to the Sindh Chief Minister for further action.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Energy Mushtaq Ahmed Soomro, MD Thar Coal Energy Board Tariq Ali Shah, CEO STDC Saleem Ahmed Shaikh, and other senior officials. Officials informed that SEHC’s investments are expected to yield an annual profit of Rs250 million over the next four years.
A notable 209% increase in investments was recorded this year, with Rs105 million allocated to oil and gas projects, up from Rs34 million last year.
Nasir Shah stressed merit-based recruitment while prioritizing local hiring in project areas.
