Karachi: Pakistan has launched a full-scale retaliatory military operation against India in response to missile attacks on its airbases, naming the counteroffensive ‘Operation Bunyān Al-Marsūs’ — meaning “Iron Wall” or “Firm Foundation”, according to the state broadcaster PTV News.

Pakistan’s Response to Indian Aggression

According to official sources and state media, Pakistan initiated the operation after Indian forces carried out missile strikes on three Pakistan Air Force (PAF) airbases. The government labeled these attacks a direct assault on national sovereignty, prompting a “befitting response.”

The operation, officially titled Bunyān Al-Marsūs, is being executed across multiple domains — air, land, cyber, and electronic warfare — and has already caused substantial damage to key Indian military installations.

Key Indian Targets Hit in Airstrikes

Security sources confirmed that Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, armed with hypersonic missiles, successfully destroyed India’s high-profile S-400 air defense system in Adampur. The system, worth approximately $1.5 billion, was considered a core component of India’s aerial defense.

Other strategic sites targeted and reportedly destroyed include:

  • Udhampur Airbase
  • BrahMos missile storage in Pathankot and Beas
  • Uri field supply depot and “Dipo Uri” supply base
  • Indian Brigade Headquarters at KG-Top
  • Airfields at Sirsa, Bathinda, Adampur, Suratgarh, and Pathankot
  • Akhnoor Aviation Base
  • Rajouri Military Intelligence Training Center, alleged to be involved in terrorism activities inside Pakistan
  • Artillery positions at Dehrangyari

Indian media, including the Times of India, has confirmed strikes at Udhampur, Pathankot, Bhuj, and Bathinda airbases. Col. Sophia Qureshi of the Indian Army Signal Corps admitted Pakistan had inflicted damage on “equipment and personnel” at over 26 locations.

Cyber Warfare and Satellite Disruption

In a coordinated cyber offensive, Pakistan reportedly hacked numerous Indian government and military websites. These include:

  • The official BJP website
  • Border Security Forces (BSF)
  • Crime Research Investigation Agency
  • Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
  • Mahanagar Telecommunication Company
  • Unique Identification Authority of India
  • Maharashtra Election Commission

Additionally, over 2,500 surveillance cameras were hacked, and 70% of India’s power grid was rendered non-functional, leading to blackouts across several regions. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) also reportedly jammed Indian military satellites, disrupting communication and surveillance capabilities.

Symbolic Missile Launch: The ‘Fatah’

The Pakistani military launched the Fatah-1 missile — with a range of 120 kilometers and advanced navigation systems — in memory of children killed during Indian missile strikes. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) emphasized that the missiles were named to honor the martyred and vowed to never forget their sacrifice.

Drones Over Delhi Cause Panic

Reports indicate that Pakistani drones flew over New Delhi for nearly three hours, sparking widespread panic in the Indian capital. These unmanned aerial vehicles reportedly conducted surveillance and psychological warfare operations.

DG ISPR: ‘India’s Objectives Were Thwarted’

DG ISPR stated that most Indian missiles were intercepted by Pakistan’s air defense systems and those that did land “caused no damage” to critical PAF flying assets. He termed India’s strikes as part of a broader strategy to destabilize the region, but stressed that Pakistan remains vigilant.

“These blatant acts of aggression by India reflect the growing paranoia of a failed strategy,” said the DG ISPR, adding that Pakistan’s resolve would only strengthen in the face of such cowardly actions.

Pakistan Suffers Minor Damage, Civilian Casualties

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed that Pakistan suffered minimal damage, with only a car hit at Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Base. However, some civilian casualties were reported in areas targeted by drones.

State media PTV reported that India had attacked Sheikh Zayed International Airport in Rahim Yar Khan, a site seen as a symbol of Pakistan-UAE friendship.

India Confirms Deaths, Damage

Indian officials have confirmed at least five deaths, including government personnel in Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Col. Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh acknowledged that Indian airbases were struck and sustained damage.
